The site is located to the South East of the Cork Southern Ring Road affording excellent views over Lough Mahon. The Mahon Point Shopping Centre is directly across the Southern Ring Road from the Site.
The subject site, which covers 46,755sq.m (4.68 hectares, 11.55 acres), is located within the administrative area of Cork City Council
The proposed development comprises the development of a mixed use development comprising 318 apartments in five blocks and a stand alone 176 bedroom Hotel with associated business and leisure facilities. Included within the scheme are individual restaurants/ cafés, retail units, leisure facilities, own-door offices, medical and dental facilities and a crèche.
The development will also provide for 830 car parking spaces to be used by both the hotel and apartment developments, set down areas, service and circulation areas. All of the buildings are arranged around private landscaped courtyards and a feature public waterscape plaza. Specific pedestrian routes are provided throughout.
The site is close to a range of employment, recreation, infrastructure, education, commercial and retail uses. It is adjacent to major traffic infrastructure, public transport and a major shopping centre.
