Aer Lingus Headquarters Site

Dublin Airport, County Dublin
Client: Aer Lingus
Area: 166,400 sq.m
Budget: €390 million

The Aer Lingus lands at Dublin Airport are integral to the redevelopment of the airport by virtue of the key strategic location and adjacency to existing and new proposed terminal.

The project is conceived as a dynamic hub or interchange providing vital connections and interfaces between elements of infrastructure (both existing and future) within a vibrant commercial context. The proposals has been conceived as the heart of the landside airport activities, a ‘town centre’ of a quality and scale consistent with its location as a gateway of national importance providing appropriate facilities for passengers, operators, employees and visitors to the airport.

The project buildings are organised about a central large circular building or ‘hub’ accommodating a broad range of activities including the proposed RPA metro station, ticketing hall, remote check in facilities, retail, food courts, leisure activities and offices, two hotels, an aparthotel, office buildings and a carparking facility. A landscaped plaza provides a sheltered microclimate between the hub and the peripheral buildings. Connections can be made via skywalks, shuttles etc to the surrounding airport facilities. The main concourse is also entered from a landscaped public plaza surrounding the hub building around which are located two hotels, an aparthotel, independent office buildings and a carparking facility.
