Vodafone Building

Central Park, Leopardstown, Dublin, Ireland
Client: Clyde Road Partnership

A category winner of the celebrated European Steel Design Awards, the complex geometrical configuration of this building is derived from its pivotal position within the Central Park development and further moulded by the future arrival of the Luas Light Railway System which will skirt the eastern façade in a broad arc.

The office accommodation is arranged in deep flexible floor plates that connect across a central atrium void. This space is dominated by a triangular rooflight which captures and effuses sunlight deep within the plan.

This atrium links the entrance forecourt to private landscaped gardens at the rear and is a source of daylight, social encounter and access to the office areas above. Here the space is flanked by stone walls between which is stretched a glazed screen of thirty metres in height supported on a horizontal catenary.
